National Sevens Circuit calendar released
The Kenya Rugby Union has released the schedule for the 2024 National Sevens Circuit, which will run from July to September with six rounds of action. Fourteen teams, including defending champions Kenya Harlequin, will compete for the title.
The Kenya Rugby Union has announced the schedule for the 2024 National Sevens Circuit. The tournament will run from July to September and will feature six legs.
The opening leg is set for July 25-26, followed by the second on August 1-2. The third and fourth legs will take place on August 15-16 and August 22-23. The competition will then move to the fifth leg on September 5-6, with the final leg scheduled for September 12-13. The overall champion will be crowned after the final round. Hosts and venues for each leg will be confirmed later.

Fourteen teams will compete in this year’s edition. They include defending champions Kenya Harlequin, Kabras RFC, Mwamba RFC, KCB Rugby, Strathmore Leos, Nondescripts RFC, Mean Machine, Homeboyz RFC, Impala Saracens, Kisumu RFC, Mombasa RFC, Blak Blad RFC, Nakuru RFC, and Kenya Police FC.
Kenya Harlequin won the 2024 National Sevens Circuit with 110 points, securing the title through consistent performances. Strathmore Leos won the final leg, the Prinsloo 7s, after beating Nondescripts 33-7 in the cup final. Kabras RFC’s title hopes ended in the semi-finals after losing to Nondescripts.
About the National Sevens Circuit
The National Sevens Circuit is a rugby sevens competition where each team fields seven players per match. It differs from the Kenya Cup, which is the main rugby union league played with 15 players per team.
The tournament consists of six rounds held across different regions. Teams earn points in each round, with the overall champion determined by the total points. The six events are Dala 7s, Driftwood 7s, Prinsloo 7s, Christie 7s, Kabeberi 7s, and Sepetuka 7s. The 2024 season featured host venues in Kisumu, Mombasa, Nakuru, Nairobi, and Eldoret.
